Alex Lehnert Career
She was born and raised in Colorado, she made her way to the land of 10,000 lakes from the Central Valley of California. Lehnert knew she wanted to be a meteorologist at a young age. She attended and graduated from the University of Colorado, and after graduating she started walking down that path toward her dream. She began her career in Casper, Wyoming where she worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, editor, weather forecaster, you name it. From there it was off to Fresno, California to report, and forecast the weather.
In 2013, Lehnert joined KTWO-Casper, WY as a Reporter, Anchor, and Weather Forecaster a position she held for three years until 2016 when she left to join KPTM-Omaha, NE. She joined KPTM-Omaha, NE in 2016 as a Weather Forecaster for a span of two years. She was also working for KMPH-Fresno, CA. In 2018, Alex parted ways with KPTM-Omaha and joined KMSP-Minneapolis, MN as a Weather Forecaster and Reporter.
Lehnert has received awards for her work on stories and even was named Employee of the Year while working in Fresno. During her free time, she likes to spend as much time outside as the weather allows. She and her pup Fin enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, camping, and cross-country skiing. During the winter Lehnert volunteers with the Courage Kenny Ski program at Hyland. In addition, she also spends a good amount of time painting and experimenting in the kitchen.
