Brooks is a native of the Pittsburgh area and is thrilled to be back in Pennsylvania. Before his time in the Sunshine State, he served as an anchor and reporter at WETM-TV in Elmira, N.Y. Brooks graduated from Penn State’s College of Communications with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.

While there, he received national recognition in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program for his report on the potential impact Marcellus Shale gas drilling could have on central Pennsylvania’s world-class trout fishing. In addition, he is a proud alum of Penn State’s award-winning student-run newscast “Centre County Report.” During his time in college, he had the opportunity to intern in New York City with the show 48 Hours Mystery.
