He was born and raised in Oswego, New York, he attended and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. Maxon received the “Seal of Approval” from The American Meteorological Society for weather forecasting and broadcasting.
In 1987, he served for Cable News Center 7 in Ithaca, New York, prior to moving to Binghamton, New York, to work at WMGC in 1988 and has forecasted the weather throughout the northeast. Maxon honed most of his experience working for WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire between 1989-1995.
While as a professional meteorologist, he has covered many of the major storms that have struck the northeast including Hurricane Bob in 1991, the Great Winter Storm of ’93, the Blizzard of ’96, the amazing President’s Day Blizzard of 2003, Irene and Sandy, as well as the blizzard of February 2013.
In addition, he volunteers his time to raise important money for the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, and FAVARH. Maxon resides in Simsbury with his wife, Jacqui, their two daughters, Katy and Marleigh, and their dogs, Atticus and Louie.

In a On Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in a special evening event at the SFLPierre-Louis will use Maxon’s home to demonstrate how to conduct house history research, including where to find deeds, how to chain a deed, how to locate other sources of information such as US Federal Census records, as well as teach some tricks to help people get the most out of house history research.
