Bruce Dern (Bruce Dern MacLeish) is an American actor, who plays supporting villainous characters of unstable nature. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Coming Home in 1978 and the Academy Award for Best Actor for Nebraska in 2013. He also has various films; The Cowboys in 1972, Black Sunday in 1977, Monster in 2003, and The Hateful Eight in 2015.

He also had a maternal grandfather who was the chairman of the Carson, Pirie, and Scott stores, his maternal granduncle, Archibald MacLeish, was a poet, and his maternal great-grandfather, Andrew MacLeish, was a Scottish-born businessman. Illinois governor was Dern’s godfather.
