Bonci is considered the real “king” of pizza by the slice. He has been leading Pizza Hero since 2021-the challenge of the ovens, broadcast on Food Network. A Roman native, Bonci soon became passionate about cooking. Immediately after he graduated from the hotel institute, he started working in various restaurants in the capital.
However, Bonci soon discovers that he has a passion for pizza rather than restaurant cuisine. In 2003 he opened Pizzarium, a quality pizzeria that uses only top-quality organic products. In a short time, his gourmet pizzas became a real institution, enjoying success also abroad and enabling him to open a Pizzarium office overseas, in Chicago, in 2017. After making his TV debut at La Prova del Cuoco on Rai 1, in 2019 leads Pizza Hero – the challenge of the ovens, a highly successful culinary talent show that will make Bonci one of the most loved television characters.
Bonci’s pizza was elected the best by “The 50 best pizza on a journey in Italy” and it is present in many world rankings. The Roman chef publishes numerous recipes on the web, from the classic red pizza to the gourmet ones, passing through the famous Roman supplì. He released “The game of pizza” for Rizzoli in 2012, where he talks about his love for pizza and the secrets of dough and leavening.
