Leonard lives his life through one simple run-on sentence; I love my life, I love my wife, I love my daughters and my dog…I kind of like cats. His career has moved him places running from Alberta, Canada to Mississippi, Lowa, and finally, Minnesota where he has been working for FOX 9 for over 20 years, he has been used to the phrase, stay aware of the sky, which highlights the weather forecast. Leonard lost a third of his lower lip to squamous cell cancer in 2016.
He survived cancer for the past three years, finished the Lake Placid Ironman 140.6, and learned to empty the dishwasher at home. In addition, he works tirelessly for the 8,000-plus athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota all year long with the annual Polar Plunge in the winter and his Bad Pants Open Golf Tournament in the fall.
Through it, all Ian has helped raise over $20 million for Special Olympics Minnesota in the past 14 years and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. He attended and graduated from Lowa University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
