Before joining the team in Baltimore, Lomax worked at WVLA and WGMB in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she covered a wide range of severe weather events. In 2020, she reported on the Easter tornado outbreak that caused extensive damage in northern Louisiana and southern Mississippi. She also covered the record-breaking hurricane season that saw five storms making landfall in Louisiana, three of which were hurricanes. In February 2021, Lomax reported on the ice storm that left many Louisianians without power.
Before her time in Baton Rouge, Lomax interned with EarthShare, an environmental federation based in Bethesda. During her internship, she had the opportunity to visit various government agencies to discuss climate change and EarthShare’s efforts to protect the environment.
