Jason Matheson is an accomplished American television Personality well known as the host of The Jason Show at KMSP-TV, FOX 9 airing at 10:00 AM. In addition, he is also known as the host of Jason & Alexis in the Morning on MyTalk 107.1 in the Twin Cities. He has received five times Emmy Award nominees and has won Emmy Award as the producer for a series of investigative promotions for Fox 9.

Matheson and his biological father didn’t have a good relationship since his dad was embarrassed by him. When his father was on his deathbed, he began to understand things more clearly. It revealed to him that his father was gay and wasn’t brave enough to deal with it to a point that he was his own son as the uncomfortable mirror. His father died at 49 years old. He said that his dad was jealous and sad since his son was not afraid to hide his sexual orientation.
His mother got married to her second husband Cappy whom she loved until his last breath. Cappy was diagnosed with stage four cancer which is the last stage of cancer and passed on in 2020. Matheson says that Cappy was like a father to him. He also went ahead and said that Cappy took great care of them both him and his mother.

Matheson started his broadcasting career at WCCO-TV. Paying “his dues” as an overnight dispatcher, working the weekend overnight shift. In the spring of 2000, Matheson moved to KMSP-TV, FOX 9 as executive producer of “The Buzz”, a long-running and highly popular daily entertainment segment. Within months of his arrival at FOX 9, he was moved in front of the camera as film critic for the station’s newly launched morning show, “Good Day Minnesota.”
While at FOX 9, Jason has interviewed celebrities including Ewan McGregor, Cher, Will Smith, Arthur Miller, Meryl Streep, and Emma Thompson. In 2006, he started as a radio host on myTalk 107.1 alongside his co-host Alexis Thompson on “The Saturday Night Groove.” Within a few years, they moved to a weekday show and then in 2013 promoted to morning drive launching, “Jason & Alexis in the Morning.”
