Kavanaugh interviewed every Democratic presidential candidate in her original series, ‘Coffee with Candidates, including President Joe Biden, and nearly every Republican candidate ahead of the 2020 election. This series earned her an Emmy nomination for political reporting.
In addition, Kavanaugh has been on the front lines of major, national news stories. She went to Philadelphia in 2015 after a train derailed, killing eight and injuring more than 200 people. There, she dug into the issue of train safety and the slow implementation of “Positive Train Control” which may have prevented that tragedy. She got her start in journalism in the Mountain West in Bozeman, Montana.
