He was born and raised in Orange County, Robles attended and graduated from Chapman University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast television journalism. During his tenure at ABC7, he has reported on countless breaking stories, including the Las Vegas mass shooting, the destructive Thomas Fire in Ventura, and the mudslide aftermath in Montecito.
Robles joined ABC7 in June 2014 after working for nearly eight years at KION-TV, the CBS affiliate in Salinas, California. During his time at KION, he worked in many roles, including evening news anchor, beginning in 2010.
The station received three consecutive regional Emmy awards for best newscast (small market) in Northern California. His anchor duties extended to KION’s sister stations, KCOY 12 and KKFX FOX 11, based in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California in 2012.
Robles started his broadcasting career in 2006 as a morning news anchor at KVII-TV in Amarillo. Before joining the broadcast news industry, he drove open-wheel race cars, competing in the Pro Mazda National Championship. In addition, he continues to be an avid motorsports fan and has attended the Indianapolis 500 annually since 1993. He resides in Pasadena with his wife, two sons, and rescue dog Hayley.
