Max Bretos is a popular American sports reporter. Currently, he is the voice for soccer on the ESPN networks. He has worked as a lead anchor for MLS Cup since 2010 and appeared on ESPN’s Euro 2012 coverage. Prior to moving to ESPN, he also worked for Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Sports World for more than a decade.

It is known that he started to work for Fox Soccer Channel back in 1998. He worked for this former television channel for many years. He ended his time in this soccer-specialized American channel in 2010. At the end of his career where he was the longest-running sports presenter of Fox Entertainment Group.

He made himself recognizable thanks to his repeated catchphrase, Schelotto, yeah!.
While he was working for 21st Century Fox he also worked for Sky Sports, a pay-TV sports channel based in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

He shifted to the United Kingdom to work for them. He lived across the sea from his home for three years starting in 2003. Then, the following year, he went to work for World Wrestling Entertainment, Incorporated. Moving back to the United States of America to do so.

He began his work there in January of 2010. In 2010,  he covered the Major League Soccer Cup as ESPN’s major anchorman. Two years later, he was placed in charge of reporting for the ESPN cover of the European Championship in 2012.
The following year that he Co-hosted One Nacion, an ESPN Hispanic special program. He also interviewed Yasiel Puig, the right fielder of Los Angeles Dodgers, that same year.

He was hired as LAFC play-by-play announcer on February 15, 2018. He was officially named as the team’s lead broadcaster and head of content.
His main role is to announce LAFC games on the expansion team’s YouTube TV channel, the exclusive home of English-language local broadcasts. Additionally, he would also serve as host and director of original LAFC programming, including pregame and postgame shows on the LAFC YouTube TV channel.
