In 1982, Muse joined NBC News as an anchor and reporter. She was later teamed up with Barbara Harrison to co-anchor News4 at Noon. As a team, they formed the first all-female local news team in the country. Muse later anchored the weekend editions of News4 at 6 pm and 11 pm.

Her broadcasting career journey started in radio where she served at stations including WTOP-AM, WOL-AM, WHUR-FM, National Public Radio, and the former Mutual Black Network. Her television broadcasting career at WBAL-TV in Baltimore where she anchored the weekend 6 & 11 pm newscasts and worked as a general assignment reporter.

Muse has received various EMMY Awards, including two Best Anchor statues.
