While growing he spent some years in the San Joaquin Valley, and Los Angeles, but Frame has lived most of his life here in Central California. Frame graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology.
After graduating, he was hired in the wind energy business where he installed meteorological towers in California, North Dakota, Montana, and the Republic of Chile. While there, Frame provided operational forecasts for wind energy and other businesses in addition to meteorological consulting. Frame worked as a weather producer at KPIX in San Francisco that’s where he got his start in television in.
He worked behind-the-scenes forecasting and creating graphics. He also worked for Weather Central Inc. in Madison Wisconsin where he traveled to TV stations all across the U.S. and Canada installing and training TV weathercasters to use weather modeling equipment and graphics software. Frame spends his leisure time biking, camping, fishing, and barbecuing.
