While in college, Gannon was very active in her college’s Weather Club and took part in the Weather Challenge for three years to gain experience in forecasting. She led a student forecasting team in Mesoscale Meteorology Storm Chasing to help boost her knowledge of severe storm prediction in 2015.
In addition, she also spent considerable time in a Broadcast Practicum at our sister station KBJR-TV in Duluth. Gannon was a GIS intern with the National Park Service in Ashland at the time of fall 2016. She is an active member of the American Meteorological Society and has had SKYWARN Certified Storm Spotter Training.
Gannon was born in Souithearsyen Minnesota and grew up in the small town of Kenyon, she was happy to land a job so close to home in her chosen career path. She was passionate and fascinated with the weather ever since elementary school when she read a book about clouds. Growing up, she always liked to track hurricanes in the tropics and stay up to date on the latest severe weather.
When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her cats, family, and friends from the area or cozy up with a good book.
