Means began her career in the entertainment industry as a teenage model, walking the runway for acclaimed designers Bill Bass and Bob Mackie. Eventually, she made her television debut in the early 1990s in multiple episodes of the hit show In Living Color. In 1994, she made her film debut in the comedy classic House Party, playing the role of Veda.
In 1993, she made her television debut as Officer Houston in an episode of “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” titled “Valentine’s Day Massacre”. She quickly rose to fame the following year for her role as Veda in “House Party 3”, her film debut. In 1995, she further increased her celebrity status when she played the memorable role of Felisha in “Friday”, the line “Bye Felisha” becoming an iconic part of pop culture. Means continued her successful acting streak with roles in “The Cherokee Kid” (1996), “Sprung” (1997), and the also the television series “Cousin Skeeter” (1998-2001). She also had parts in the 1999 film “A Luv Tale” and a short video. Afterward, Fox took a seven-year break from acting.
Apart from being an accomplished actress, producer, photographer, and comedian, she has also made her mark in the culinary world as the owner and manager of the vegan restaurant Jackfruit Café.
