Bre-Z began her pursuit of a music career at 14 with spontaneous performances around Philadelphia. Her brother was an aspiring rapper, and she found her own voice after performing his songs. When she was fifteen, she met Freeway of the Roc-A-Fella Records rap group, State Property. This fateful encounter led to her first recording session, where she laid down her debut track.
She started her songwriting career by collaborating with renowned musicians such as Dr. Dre, Jennifer Lopez, and The Game. At the age of 24, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career and eventually achieved her dreams when she landed an audition in a barbershop, leading to her first-ever acting role as Freda Gatz. During her time on the show, she also made frequent appearances in the soundtrack, performing her own rap songs. As a testament to her success, she was chosen as the grand marshal of the Xavier University homecoming parade in November 2018.
In 2018, Tamia “Coop” Cooper made her debut in the widely acclaimed drama All American. She has remarked that her character remarkably mirrors her own personality and upbringing, and has been hailed for pushing boundaries and representing the LGBTQ community in a powerful way.
