Greene joined Channel 6 in July 2022 after spending the previous four years at KREM in Spokane, Washington, where she was the Sports Director. Greene was born and raised in Portland, in the United States. She spent all 18 years of her life in the area before joining college at Gonzaga in Spokane. Also, she has made stops in Great Falls, Montana, and Reno, Nevada, in her career.
Greene has been infatuated with teams, players, and their stories since she was a small child. She could be found watching sports or reading the paper’s sports section trying to memorize every fact she could get her hands on. While growing up, she was an avid fan of the Blazers and Ducks. Notably, Greene comes from a family that goes back four generations at Oregon State. Her first sports memory was the crushing Blazers’ loss in the 2000 Western Conference Finals. She was hooked on sports thereafter even with the sad ending.
Moreover, Greene started attending Oregon Duck games and only missed one home game from third grade on, including skipping her senior year Homecoming to go to Oregon’s epic 2009 Halloween win over USC. As she grew older, Greene realized that her future job must involve telling others’ stories through sports. Most importantly, she considers the fact that she gets to do this every day a huge honor.

KOIN-TV, also known as Channel 6 is a television station in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is affiliated with CBS and is owned by Nexstar Media Group alongside Salem–licensed CW-owned-and-operated station KRCW-TV or channel 32. The two stations share studios in the basement of the KOIN Center skyscraper on Southwest Columbia Street in downtown Portland, while KOIN’s transmitter is located in the Sylvan-Highlands neighborhood of the city. Channel 6 started broadcasting on October 15, 1953, as Portland’s first VHF television station. The station took on an affiliation with the CBS Television Network, to match the radio station.
KOIN currently broadcasts 43.5 hours of locally produced newscasts each week; with 5.5 hours each weekday and 2.5 hours each on Saturdays and Sundays. The station became the first television station in the Portland market to be broadcasting its local newscasts in 16:9 widescreen standard definition on February 1, 2007. Following Oregon Media Insiders, during Montecito’s ownership of the station, its local news ratings declined in all periods; among the four news-producing stations in the Portland market, KOIN had the greatest loss in audience share.
Most importantly, KOIN finished in first position in the 11 p.m. news in the May 2008 NSI sweeps for the first time in ten years. Channel News 6 at 11—unlike a year earlier when it lost over 20 percent of its CBS lead-in share—held its prime time share throughout its 11 p.m. newscast in the May 2008 NSI sweeps. Its then-owners, New Vision Television, fired news director Jeff Alan and replaced him with Lynn Heider in January 2008. Consequently, KOIN dropped its slogan “Bringing News Home” as Jeff Alan had trademarked it under his name in 2000 before he worked at KOIN.
