DeGuzman became a part of the WFXR sports team in July 2018, assuming the role of weekend sports anchor and reporter. Originating from New York City, DeGuzman has considered Virginia his second home since 2014. His professional journey led him northward along Interstate-81 to WHSV-TV, the ABC affiliate located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he served as the sports director for a span of four years. During his time in the Shenandoah Valley, DeGuzman covered significant events such as the James Madison football team’s victorious pursuit of an FCS national title in 2016 and their subsequent appearance in the championship game the following year.
He embarked on his on-air career in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he reported on the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and local high school sports. DeGuzman served as a Production Associate for coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the summer of 2016. This marked his third involvement with the Olympic Games, having fulfilled the same role during the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and interned during the London Olympics in 2012.
