Taylor began his tenure with WLKY as a sports anchor in June 2023. Taylor embarked on his professional journey by interning under WLKY’s Fred Cowgill and Rick Van Hoose during the summer of 1992. His association with WLKY commenced in 1994 when he joined as an editor and photographer. Throughout his career, Taylor has been on the frontlines of covering all major sporting events in his hometown, including the Kentucky Derby, Final Four, PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup.
Over the years, Taylor has gotten a collection of awards, such as six AP Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year honors, two NSMA Kentucky TV Sportscaster of the Year titles, an Ohio Valley Emmy Award for his exceptional coverage of the Kentucky Derby, and several AP Awards recognizing his contributions to various high school prep shows and his play-by-play commentary.
