Adams has been predicting the Southeast Michigan weather for the past 25 years and is now rejoining the 4WarnWeather Team. She became the first female meteorologist on Detroit television in July 1997. Despite making little money for her work at WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio, Adams was determined to pursue her dreams. On weekends she would drive home to Detroit to clean houses to make ends meet. After leaving WHIZ-TV, she went on to work at WBNS in Columbus Ohio before finally achieving her dream of becoming a meteorologist by accepting a job at WXYZ-TV.
Fun Fact: Adams played a reporter in the movie Scream 4 with Courtney Cox and delivers the final line of the movie. But because she doesn’t like scary movies, she has never seen the entire film!
Philanthropy
Outside the station, Adams is an exemplary member of her community. As a breast cancer survivor, Adams has dedicated her life to supporting those who have gone through similar experiences. She works closely with New Day Foundation for Families to provide financial support for cancer patients to help them pay mortgages, buy groceries, and more so they can focus on healing and recovery. Moreover, Adams also shows her support for Turning Point and other domestic violence shelters. To spread her message of faith and perseverance, Adams hosts a radio program called “Fearless Faith” on 103.5 WMUZ in Detroit and other radio stations across the nation.
