Spooner is currently the morning anchor for NBC2 News Today. She has more than six years of anchoring the 4pm and 11pm newscasts at NBC2. Before joining NBC2, Spooner hosted the nationally syndicated morning show, The Daily Buzz, where she conducted one-on-one interviews with prominent Hollywood figures such as Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Connelly, and Colin Farrell. In her role at The Daily Buzz, Spooner also had the responsibility of reporting national news each morning and covered national breaking events during the three-hour program, including the West, Texas explosion, and the Boston Marathon bombings.
Spooner started her television career at a Houston-based station, where she served as the primary anchor. Afterwards, she moved to CBS 19 Eyewitness News in Tyler, Texas, initially anchoring their Primetime at 5 newscast and later assuming the additional responsibilities of the 6pm, 6:30pm, and 10pm newscasts, along with the role of Managing Editor. Spooner made the decision to explore new opportunities and returned to Southwest Florida, where she had previously anchored the morning show for Fox 4 after leaving Texas.
In 2002, Spooner was crowned Miss Texas and competed in the nationally televised Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City that fall. During the pageant, she received a preliminary interview award and was recognized as a Top Ten Finalist. Spooner, along with her husband and their young daughter, takes pleasure in outdoor activities in the weather of Southwest Florida and enjoys all the region has to offer.
