Viviano holds the position of sports director at WJZ. Before this, Viviano served as the studio anchor and national correspondent for CNN-Sports Illustrated. He took on this role after leaving WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate television station in Baltimore, in December 1999. In Baltimore, he is remembered for his work as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at WBAL-TV, as well as his contributions to sister radio stations WBAL-AM and 98 Rock FM. He served as both the morning radio sports anchor and the evening/weekend call-in host for sports-related programming.

Viviano’s journey to Baltimore began in the Midwest, where he worked as the weekend sports anchor at WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio. He also held a similar position at WCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Notable moments in his career include gaining national recognition as the reporter who first broke the news of the Cleveland Browns’ relocation to Baltimore in November 1995. He was also chosen to carry the Olympic torch through Baltimore as part of its journey to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Beyond his broadcasting career, Viviano is an enthusiastic runner, having completed 21 marathons, including the 2002 Boston Marathon. In June 2008, he achieved the impressive feat of finishing 109th out of 1,800 runners in the inaugural Baltimore 10 Miler.
