Mike Lookinland Career
Lookinland began his career as a TV commercial actor and appeared in around thirty commercials before landing a role in The Brady Bunch. Initially, he was offered roles in two shows – Eddie on The Courtship of Eddie’s Father and Bobby on The Brady Bunch. His parents opted for the latter, thinking it would be better for him to be around kids closer to his age. Due to the mismatch in hair color with his TV siblings, Peter and Greg, Lookinland’s sandy-colored, wavy hair was dyed dark brown and straightened during the early seasons. However, the dye would sometimes run down his face due to the hot set of lights. In the last two seasons, his natural hair color was allowed.
After The Brady Bunch, Lookinland played a supporting role in the 1974 film The Towering Inferno and made a guest appearance on The Secrets of Isis in 1975. He continued to portray Bobby Brady in various sequels and spin-offs. In 1976, he initially showed disinterest in The Brady Bunch Hour but negotiated a higher salary, leading to increased pay for the entire cast. Lookinland reprised his role in several other Brady Bunch projects, including The Brady Girls Get Married (1981), A Very Brady Christmas (1988), and The Bradys (1990).

Following his departure from show business, Lookinland worked as a television camera operator and even made an uncredited appearance in the 2000 film Growing Up Brady. In 2019, he joined other Brady Bunch cast members in the television series A Very Brady Renovation on HGTV. Lookinland later shifted to a business in Salt Lake City, Utah, specializing in decorative concrete. In 2021, Lookinland returned to acting in the Lifetime Christmas movie, Blending Christmas, alongside fellow Brady Bunch co-stars. The following year, in 2022, Lookinland, along with Christopher Knight and Barry Williams, participated in season eight of The Masked Singer as “Mummies” but was eliminated on “TV Theme Night” alongside Daymond John as “Fortune Teller.”
