Ryan started his broadcasting career at KFBB in Great Falls, Montana. As the weekend sports anchor. He wrote, produced, and shot primarily high school sports and local college athletics. Less than a year later, he accepted a similar position at KTVQ in Billings, MT. In 2002, At age 24, he landed a sports reporter gig at KUSA in Denver, Colorado.
