Butler kick-started his career as a Weekend Sports Anchor by interning with Augusta’s ABC affiliate during his college years and later returning to the same station for his initial television job. His anchoring career also included leading the evening news at Augusta’s NBC affiliate from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, he held anchor positions in Fort Myers, Florida, Greenville, South Carolina, Birmingham, Alabama, and, most recently, Huntsville, Alabama.
During his 11-year tenure in Florida, Butler reported on various hurricanes, notably those directly impacting Southwest Florida in 2004 and 2005. He provided live coverage from major events such as the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia and the World Series in Cleveland. His contributions earned him the title of “Best News Anchor” from the readers of the “News-Press” in Fort Myers.
Butler cherishes memories of covering events in Augusta, such as the Masters and co-hosting the Children’s Miracle Network telethon.
