Hardy became a part of the First Coast News team in 2021, assuming the role of a multi skilled journalist with multiple skills. Hailing from Texas, Hardy’s upbringing took place in Dallas, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. It was at this very institution where he joined the Phi Delta chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. Hardy eagerly embraced the idea of calling Jacksonville and First Coast News his new home, making the move to the Sunshine State in August 2021. Three years before joining FCN, he served as a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Decatur, Illinois. His journalism career began in 2015 when he took on the role of a bureau reporter in Longview, TX with CBS 19 in Tyler.
One of his most notable and touching stories revolved around two Decatur children who raised over $2,000 by selling snacks and homemade candles outside their home. This money was used to support their grandmother’s chemotherapy, and they even generously donated $500 to the Cancer Care Center of Decatur. Hardy lives by the motto “make a difference.” He is passionate about sharing your stories and amplifying voices within every community. During his leisure time, Hardy indulges in collecting vinyl records, delving into the world of comic books, and exploring local businesses.
