Bucka attended Saturday Polish school and local Sunday Polish mass. Her native language has stayed with her into adulthood. She graduated from college and traveled to California where she landed her foot through the door at KPIX, in San Francisco. Bucka began as a production assistant and rose through the ranks to assignment editor. Most importantly, she got her first debut on-air break, after fellow colleagues helped her put a tape together and the rest ‘is history.’She got her first job in Redding, CA, Bucka covered general assignment stories including a national story of two young children found in barrels in a storage unit.
Bucka’s next market saw her travel to Lafayette, LA where she fell in love with Cajun culture and found out the true meaning of Cajun cuisine. Louisville, KY was her next destination. She worked as a weekend anchor covering stories about protocol, procedures, and the latest COVID developments during the height of the pandemic. Amid social justice protests following Brianna Taylor’s death, she spoke to protestors and the group seen protecting an officer. After her contract ended she returned to New York before moving to Albany, New York for the next year.

KTNV-TV, also known as channel 13 is a television station in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States. It is affiliated with ABC and owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside Laughlin-licensed Ion Television owned-and-operated station KMCC (channel 34). The station’s studios are located on South Valley View Boulevard in the nearby unincorporated community of Paradise and its transmitter is located atop Mount Arden in Henderson.
The station was the third to be activated in Southern Nevada, beginning broadcasting in May 1956 as KSHO-TV. At first, it operated on a 24-hour basis, unique for the time, with a rotating schedule of movies and minimal news coverage; it remained an independent station until affiliating with ABC in December 1957. Due to financial constraints, multiple stock sales and ownership transfers occurred from 1957 until 1961, when the licensee, Television Company of America, declared bankruptcy, and a receiver was appointed. The Federal Communications Commission opened an investigation into an unauthorized transfer of control of the station in 1963, which resulted in a decision to deny the renewal of its broadcast license.
In 1979, the Journal Company acquired KSHO-TV and relaunched it as KTNV-TV in March 1980. The company made technical investments at the station, and the news department also grew. However, KTNV-TV has not been able to rise substantially from third place in the market despite several overhauls and tweaks to its newscasts. In 2015, Scripps acquired Journal, including KTNV.
