Her Alaskan broadcasting journey commenced in 1990 as an anchor/reporter at KTVF-TV, marking the start of a career spanning television, radio, and advertising. Recognizing the pivotal role of weather in aviation, she transitioned into meteorology after accruing 40 hours of flight time, further enhancing her expertise by completing the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.
Campbell’s meteorological endeavors include serving as chief meteorologist at KTVA-TV and later as a weekend meteorologist at KTUU-TV. Seeking exposure to severe weather phenomena, she relocated to tornado alley in Lubbock, Texas, in 2000, assuming the role of chief meteorologist at KJTV-TV and its sister station, Telemundo 46, catering to audiences in both English and Spanish. Returning to Alaska in 2003 after her time amidst jackrabbits and tumbleweeds, Campbell pledged allegiance to her beloved state, embracing roles as a weekend and fill-in meteorologist since her homecoming.
Married to a lifelong Alaskan, she shares her life with two sons, two golden retrievers, and a cat. An enthusiastic downhill skier, Campbell tends a diverse array of over 22 vegetables, fruits, and herbs in her backyard garden. She devotes her spare time to assisting students in navigating the college/training process, aiding them in securing grants and scholarships.
