Lord’s journalism career includes achieving two Emmy award nominations and securing multiple accolades for his coverage of social unrest and protests following the tragic death of Breonna Taylor in 2020.
Before his stint in Louisville, Lord spent over two years in Augusta, Georgia, where he served as the lead reporter and occasionally filled in as an anchor. During this period, he had the opportunity to report on several national events, such as the trial of Reality Winner, the NSA government contractor accused of leaking classified information, and the contentious gubernatorial race between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp in Georgia.
Lord graduated from UNC-Charlotte in May 2016, where he actively contributed by shooting, writing, and editing stories for the “Niner Times” and interned at Time Warner Cable News. His grandmother nurtured his passion for journalism because he watched the evening news as a child with her. He takes pride in his membership with the NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists).
