Franklin currently works as an anchor and reporter at KFDX. He is a native of Texoma, he co-anchors KFDX 3 News at 5, 6, and 10, as well as Fox, Texoma’s News at 9 on KJTL. Franklin joined the KFDX team in February 1992 as a studio camera operator and later transitioned to directing weekend newscasts a year later. In January 1994, Franklin moved from production to the newsroom, where he began reporting and also producing. In the summer of ’96, he took on anchoring and producing weekend newscasts and continued this role, reporting on regional stories until October 2005 when he became the anchor for Fox, Texoma’s News at 9 on KJTL. He started anchoring KFDX 3 News at 10 full-time in January 2012 and expanded his role to include KFDX 3 News at 5 and 6 in March 2018.
Franklin earned his B.A. in Mass Communication at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, he grew up in Iowa Park and graduating from Iowa Park High School in 1988. During his younger years, he was involved in band, jazz band (trumpet), and tennis. Franklin and his wife, Kelly, are parents to three children: Connor, Kamryn, and Collin. During his leisure time, Franklin enjoys family activities, watching current and classic movies, grilling and barbecuing, and supporting the Dallas Cowboys while spending time with friends.
