Hailing from the Sunshine State, Lane brought his passion for sports, allegiance to the Florida Gators, and storytelling passion to Alaska’s News Source in October 2023. He is a graduate of the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting at Full Sail University in Orlando, Lane earned the distinction of Valedictorian in the program’s largest class. Immersed in learning from industry luminaries with diverse backgrounds, including ESPN, FOX Sports, and numerous local stations, Lane honed his skills by producing, directing, and anchoring his own shows in the Full Sail broadcast studio.
During his academic tenure, Lane worked and attended major sporting events such as March Madness and Super Bowl 57. He also served as a Play-By-Play announcer and team reporter for “The Rollins Report” during an internship with DII Rollins College. Before Full Sail, Lane spent four years as a Diesel Mechanic in the United States Marine Corp, stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan, and stateside at Camp Pendleton, California. Engaging in daily sports discussions with fellow Marines fueled his passion for pursuing a career in broadcasting.
“While becoming a Marine was a lifelong goal, the opportunity to work in sports and give back to something so meaningful to me was too compelling to resist… and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made,” Lane reflects. Outside the studio and field, Lane dedicates his free time to crafting sports edits for his social media platforms, exploring the wilderness of America’s Last Frontier, and staying updated on the latest developments in the video game realm.
